Peter Saville mentioned that the album art for Kraftwerk's 1974 LP Autobahn was the singular inspiration for his decision to pursue graphic design—a sound decision, considering that his artwork for the likes of Joy Division and New Order has perhaps eclipsed that of their krautrock predecessor. Lovin' the simplicity of Matt Dorfman's creepy "Casey Anthony" portrait in today's NY Times. You can see more of his work at the awesomely named, metalmother. (I would've picked Tractor Chainrape myself).
And check out this one for an article about "Salt Addiction" in the New Republic. Fuck this guy, am I right?
Ben Wiseman is an illustrator and designer working in New York. It's pretty rare to find someone absolutely mudering it in two mediums this effectively.
This is a great little quick-guide to download to your phone or whatever. Click to embiggen. Poster available on Zazzle. (Although why the F anyone would want a poster of this is beyond me.)
Paul Grant is a cool, R. Crumb influenced illustrator and cartoonist. He's very prolific. You can see his comic BLUE in it's entirety, here. His site is here. His BLOG also has some cool stuff, including this epic case-study of how he approaches an assignment ... inluding sketches, influences, inks, brushes, Photoshop techniques, etc. etc. Pretty cool.
