Okay, so I don't have time for a long post, but that's fine because this is about typography, so no one is going to read it (except maybe Kev Foley).
ATTN. Whoever designed the new logo for "bing", MSN's new search engine — there's something you need to understand about typography. When one utilizes a mod geometric typeface for a logo, one does not want to horizontally stretch said typeface; because stretching transforms all the BEAUTIFUL CIRCULAR FORMS into FAT UGLY OVALS. And while the average web user won't notice the aformentioned "fat ugly ovals", their brains will subconsciously notice, and they'll be subconsciously put off by the untrustworthy lowercase "b" and shifty-looking "g" ... at which point they'll click away, and return to goofy-looking, unpretentious and friendly rainbow-colored Google. No ad revenues pour vous MSN. Oh, and another thing, what's with the weird photo background of the city at night? It makes the site feel like a search engine for hotels or night-clubs or something?
I'm available for brand consulting engagments.
I read it too, natch. And I agree with all of it. Horizontal scaling...bad news.

Hey, you were right! I did read it!
That "g" is just plain sad. Not to mention tacking TM right on the ear!?
